Most quiz makers ask you to start from nothing. That is the slow part. The material usually already exists — in last year's worksheet, in the textbook chapter you photographed, in the exercise set the department shares every term. The work is retyping it, not inventing it.
So the generator starts from what you already have. Upload a PDF, a DOCX, or a photo taken on your phone, and it reads the material and drafts questions from it. Or skip the file and describe the topic in your own words — “one-step equations, Grade 7, mix of multiple choice and short answer” is enough to start.
Everything it produces is a draft. You land in an editor where you can rewrite a question, swap a wrong option, delete the one that missed the point, or add your own. Only then does it get a due date and a class.

Common questions
Is the AI quiz generator free?
Yes. TeachRoster is free for teachers during the beta, and the demo needs no signup or install — you can open the teacher app and click through the whole flow right now.
Can it make a quiz from my own worksheet?
That is the main way it is meant to be used. Upload a PDF or DOCX, or photograph a printed worksheet with your phone, and the questions are drafted from that material rather than from a generic question bank.
Do students ever see AI-written questions I have not checked?
No. Generated questions arrive as a draft in an editor. They are not assigned, published or visible to any student until you set a class and a due date yourself.
What question types can it generate?
Multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank and short answer. The first three are graded automatically on submit; short answers come to you with a suggested score you can accept or change.
Can students just ask the AI for the answers?
You set the rule per assignment. The default is hints before submission and full explanations after, so students can get unstuck without being handed the answer. You can also turn student-facing AI off for a given assignment.
Does it work in languages other than English?
TeachRoster is built for classrooms in Brazil, India, Mexico, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and the interface is English today. Multi-language question generation and a translated interface are on the roadmap, not shipped.
